ABOUT YOU

We have an amazing opportunity for disability Support Worker based in Epping. We are looking for someone warm, friendly, respectful and willing to learn.

  • Someone who truly cares for the clients is willing to listen and not easily offended as the client swears a lot. 
  • An ability to build strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders is a must, as is the genuine desire to provide the best quality support for people with disabilities.
  • Requires someone Monday to Sunday
  • Looking for someone to hang out with, take to local shops, community access. 
  • Some personal care may be required so need someone to have hoist training.
  • Support worker with clear English – not easily offended. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build rapport and collaborate effectively with staff/management, participants, their families and friends to achieve a positive outcome and ensure a smooth flow of service delivery throughout the course of the participant’s plan. 
  • Assist with liaising with participants’ family and friends to explore new goals, and ambitions, promote and empower participants to achieve their goals and provide a medium of strong communication. Increase participants’ skills with your active support and promote independence by enhancing their skills, and personal development. 
  • Provide regular and frequent quality and professional support in line with participants’ plan, needs, and wants. 
  • Assisting participants with accessing their social community to engage with their friends and social groups to promote a healthier lifestyle. 
  • Implement strategies and programs to develop/enhance participant skills, and identify areas of increased support, and opportunities for services to help achieve their goals.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of Certificate III in Individual Support or Cert IV in Disability/Aged Care, or equivalent qualification (Mandatory)
  • Current First Aid Level 2 Certificate (Mandatory)
  • National Police Check (Mandatory)
  • Own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance (preferred but not essential) Manual handling (preferred)
  • Administration of medication (preferred)
  • Current CPR (annual)
  • Current Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
  • Current Australian Driver’s License (MUST)
  • Covid 19 Certificate

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Salary: $30.00 – $42.00 per hour
